For this assignment, I am going to be reviewing one of my most favorite video games: Minecraft. I will be discussingwhat the game is, how you play it, what you will find in the game, and some special cheats and features.
Minecraft, created by the game company Mojang in 2009, is an adventure and fantasy game where the entire world and characters are made of blocks. You can mine resources, hunt for food, build all kinds of structures, and fight monsters.
In Minecraft, there are three different game modes. The first game mode is Survival, where you have to hunt for food to keep your amount of hunger stable, and you have to build a shelter to protect yourself from monsters. If you do not want to have to worry about monsters though, you can set the game difficulty to Peaceful in settings. The second game mode is Creative, where you can build anything and do anything you like without having to worry about hunger or dying. The last game mode is Adventure, where you can still fight monsters, but you cannot break any of the world's blocks. For these modes, there are also four game difficulties. These modes only apply to Survival and Adventure mode. The four levels of difficulty are Peaceful, Easy (where monsters deal less damage), Normal (where monsters deal normal damage), and Hard (where monsters deal more damage than usual). There is a special kind of mode as well that also only applies to Survival and Adventure mode. This special mode is called Hardcore, where if you die, you cannot respawn like you would normally.
There are many different creatures and items you can find and defeat in this game.
Hostle mobs, or monsters, are creatures that are not friendly and will definitely attack you if you get too close. Some of these, for example, are the Creeper (which explodes if you get too close), the Skeleton (which will shoot arrows at you), the Spider, the Zombie, and the Witch (which will throw bottles of poison at you).
These mobs are fine unless you attack them. These for example are the Wolf (which you can also tame and make your pet), the Enderman (which loves to pick up and steal blocks), and the Polar Bear (which will attack you if they have cubs and you get too close).
These mobs are completely safe. Some of these, for example, are the Ocelot, the Rabbit, the Cow, the Sheep, the Pig, the Chicken, the Turtle, and the Parrot.
There are many different items you can find and mine. These items can be used to craft resources and other things , using a Crafting Table . Some of these, for example, are Iron, Diamond, Lead, Swords, Pickaxes, Saddles, and Armor.
In this game, there are different features and cheats you can learn that can both make gameplay much easier and also make it much more fun. Since I do not want to spoil all of it, I'll just talk about a handful of them. For example, Creepers are afraid of cats, for reasons unknown. Also, you can build a portal to go to the Nether and the End. And, to add, every world you spawn into is never the same. There are endless possibilities.
