The grizzly bear is one of the most popular and well known bear species that live on this continent. They eat a variety of plants and animals, such as:

The Canada lynx is one of the few species of lynx that live in North America. They are found mostly in areas of Canada, which is where they get their name. They are carnivores, meaning they only eat meat. Their diet is made up of mostly:
- Snowshoe hares
- Voles
- Mice
- Birds
Also called "reindeer", caribou are one of the most recognizable hooved animals. With their thick, white and brown fur, their round, sloped noses, and their furry hooves, they look very different from their deer relatives. They are mostly found in the upper areas of North America, in the cold, snowy mountains and tundra. Their diet consists of a variety of plants and berries.
The bison is one of the largest hooved animals in North America. Even though they have really thick, brown fur covering their bodies from head to toe, they are actually related to cows. They are found in many different areas of this continent, but you will mostly find them eating a variety of plants in areas of the United States of America. If you see this animal though, you have to give them some space because they are highly territorial.
This species of dog is one of the largest on this continent. They are found all over North America, from areas of the United States of America all the way up north to areas of Canada. They are also mostly carnivores, meaning they will eat animals such as:
- Moose
- Deer
- Rabbits
The raccoon is an animal that is an omnivore, meaning that they eat both meat and plants, like some of us humans do. They can be found all over the continent, from Canada and all of the way down south into areas of Mexico. They are highly adaptable to their surroundings, meaning they can thrive in both the wild and even in your own neighborhood. They are intelligent and careful, able to open trash cans with their paws to find food, while also hiding from plain sight. They may even come to your door to beg for a meal, but it is highly recommended not to feed them because they are known to carry a disease called rabies, which, if not treated immediately, can cause death.
